1 Mission
SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY
We started One Time Pittsburgh (OTPgh) with one goal -- to give back to our community.
As infosec events began canceling in April and May 2020, we quickly realized we would not see our friends and colleagues at BSides Pittsburgh, the Three Rivers Information Security Symposium (TRISS), or at Hacker Summer Camp. We wouldn't be able to shake hands, hug, or even be within 6 feet of one another without worrying about the spread of COVID-19.
As time went on, we became increasingly dismayed at the current events happening in the US and the impacts of COVID-19. The repercussions upon our local community are huge -- folks were losing jobs, getting sick, missing one another, and deeply trying to find "normalcy" in a sea of uncertainty.
We felt like we had to do something, even small, to help others. That's where OTPgh was born. We wanted to host a place for us to celebrate our accomplishments, learn from one another, feel like we were still a community, and give back to those who have persisted, yet struggled the most, during these strange times.

OTPgh will be donating any proceeds from ticket sales to local non-profits, recognized as a tax exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which you can check out below.

Special thanks to the Pittsburgh Business Times for discussing OTPgh in their recent article!
